Layer Masks - the secret of the Universe

Yes, they are that important!

Well almost...

Layers are life changing but layer masks are epoch-changing.

Most of what we do in Photoshop can only realistically be done by using layers... but without layer masks, layers on their own are effectively rendered impotent.

Masks allow you to apply changes to specific regions of your image. You can fine-tune your adjustments to specific parts of your photo, even down to a single pixel if necessary.

Working with layers in conjunction with masks, you will obtain the greatest control over your images (whilst at the same time achieving perfect harmony with the universe)

I do recommend that as soon as you've finished watching this tutorial, you haul yourself straight over to Photoshop and have a go yourself, while it is still fresh in your memory.
